About the Austin High School Alumni Association...

Formed:

  • 1991 to serve the students of Austin

Initial purposes:

  • Develop a speaker bureau to benefit students,
  • Help when situations arise within the school,
  • Provide a scholarship fund for Austin seniors,
  • Participate in the selection of the outstanding ex-student and help with the expenses of bringing the outstanding ex to the homecoming activities,
  • Participate in homecoming, be a part of the homecoming assembly, and
  • Distribute a newsletter to alumni association members.

Classes of members:

  • Austin High School alumni, attended or graduated (voting members),
  • Current and former faculty and staff (voting members),
  • Spouses of Austin High School alumni (non-voting),
  • Friends and patrons of Austin High School (nonvoting), and
  • Honorary members (nonvoting).

Past years projects:

  • Provided two scholarships to graduating seniors at the end of each school year,
  • Contributed to Project Celebration,
  • Provided funds for Journalism, Close-Up, Cross-Country, Football, Wrestling, Girl's Volleyball, Girl's Basketball, Pre-TAKS Ice Cream Social, and other student activity financial needs.

Income:

  • Association dues,
  • Alumni donations,
  • T-shirt and mug sales,
  • Girl's volleyball concessions,
  • Girl's basketball concession, and
  • Gifts from class reunions.

Yearly Dues:

  • $10.00 - Individual
  • $15.00 - Couple

Class of 1969

The Class of 1969 reunion committee continues to meet several times each year. This is an open invitation to any Austin 69'ers to join us.

The 40th reunion will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009. Please contact us if you interested in this reunion. Additional plans will be made based on interest.
